Why do my scabies keep coming back?
Once the mite burrows, it is the immune response that causes symptoms.
For those infected for the first time, it may be up to six weeks after infestation that symptoms occur.
In recurrent infection, symptoms tend to occur within a few days to two weeks..
Can I use permethrin everyday?
Background: Topical permethrin, applied once daily, is considered as the most effective treatment in scabies.
Can you leave permethrin on for 24 hours?
Leave the cream on for 8-12 hours for scabies, or 12 hours (overnight) for crab lice. After this time, you should remove the treatment from your skin by having a bath or a shower. If you need to wash your hands during the treatment time, remember to re-apply some cream to your hands afterwards.
